I’m still getting feedback from beta readers, so I’m going to continue making corrections, but I’m putting off any new revisions until I get the sequel drafted. I’m thinking some of the problems may get worked out when I have a better idea of the next adventure.

This week, I’m taking notes, doing research, reading a lot, and continuing with my learning plan as I try to get my head around book 2. I’m trying really hard not to start writing it until I have a much better idea of how it’s going to work.

That said, I do have some other, non-Cate story ideas, so I think I’m going to give Kindle Vella another shot. I made a quick cover for a paranormal romance parody in Canva this morning, and I love it so much. It’s completely silly, and probably slightly disrespectful, but I have a love/hate relationship with genre tropes, and I’m going to see how far I can push them for the sake of humor. Not sure when it’ll get published because it’s a baby idea right now, and I need to get at least six episodes written before I put them out there.

So, this week: edit book 1, write a Vella ep, watch 2 more videos from Maggie Stiefvater’s writing class, reread the intro/first chapter of Dabbler’s Guide, keep reading Magic Burns, and probably take a look at some Vellas for pacing.
